Contribute to the Growth Economy

I will be collecting materials for an upcoming series of installations. Materials can be dropped in Pratt Studios Basement, studio number 12. Pratt Studios is located at Pratt Institute, 200 Willoughby Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11205.

The community is invited to contribute plants; all sorts of plants, including seeds, seed bombs, babies (like spider plant babies), cuttings, potted plants, sprouts and seedlings. Ideally there would be a note explaining what kind of plant they are, and maybe some care instructions. However, any contribution is welcome.

I am currently making a habit of clipping pieces of ivy from Pratt campus and various places around the neighborhood. These plants are everywhere and they grow fast. Also, these vines die when they extend beyond the soil, so if you clip off the tips that are going to die anyway, you are saving plant-life that would normally go to waste.

I also seek donations of containers, which will hold water and donated plant cuttings. I seek plastic and glass bottles and jars.

More collection locations will be announced as they are secured. Please let me know if you know of a potential location or wish to donate space for a collection center. We can talk regarding pick-up times, etc.
